Svenskt Tenn Rug - ugh!

How did I ever miss this rug from Svenskt Tenn available from Architonic? I thought I had seen all of Josef Frank’s designs ten times over, but no! Yes, it is probably so far outside my budget as to be ridiculous, but I had to post it. I mean, just look at it. Fab-u-lous.
Affordable gifts I plan on giving part one

These wooden holiday ornaments from the sub-studio design store are a cool and most importantly very inexpensive little gift to give this year. You can’t beat that!
Another cool S. African Etsy seller

Apartment Therapy had a link to Skinnylaminx’s Etsy page today and I am so glad I followed that link…look at these awesome tote bags and tea towels…those are two things that I surely need more of (just don’t ask my husband!).
Lighting option for the math obsessed

Aaron at Apartment Therapy wrote up some miniature concrete buildings from Pullpush today, but I wanted to follow up on that and show you another cool piece that we saw at the same booth. This is a rubber lampshade based on the Fibonacci mathematical sequence. I am sure you already know what the Fibonacci sequence is, but as a reminder, this is the sequence that can be found in a surprising number things in nature. Pinecones, spiral shells, and sunflowers are a few things that have Fibonacci in common. Available from a very cool website that is sure to be a new favorite, Mollaspace.
Art Department gets an A+

Art Department is always one of my favorite booths at the NYIGF, they are so friendly, and their products are seriously smile inducing. I loved the addition of wreaths to their lineup, as well as the flower arrangements in vases. Those would be a very cheery addition to my new desk!
You can order right from the company via their website www.artdep.com
Cookie canisters

I guess it was a year or so ago I blogged about Western Ware and their collection of housewares with historical photos of the ol’ west on them. Well they were at the show again this year, and they had a line of chuckwagon themed kitchen paraphernalia at their booth that really caught my eye. I especially loved this set of canisters which would be perfect for keeping the varmints out of your grub. Check westernware.net for a retailer near you.
Yee hahhhh it’s rodeo time
Back home in Colorado it is county fair time. Sadly I will be missing the fair and it’s funnel cakes, 4H cake decorating contests, and of course the main event…the rodeo. Darn!
I just got a new Pendleton catalog yesterday and within it’s pages was this fun bucking bronco blanket. Ok, it’s not a great substitute for the excitement of the real thing, but it’s as close as I am bound to get anytime soon…and it looks pretty cozy!
Flor has done it again!

These new Flor tiles featuring the images of Alexander Girard are so fabulous, they are beyond fabulous…they are fabubabulous. You can choose from the three color packages above, or one that has all the colors and smaller sun-head things on it. Which one to choose though…this would be a tough call.
Unbelievable wallpaper of the past

I was surfing the net and thanks to Apartment Therapy I got hooked on this crazy site called It’s Lovely! I’ll Take It!. It is a really hilarious blog full of photos of really bad real estate ad photos. I got through a good dozen pages before this photo stopped me dead…I must have that wallpaper in my home. Does anyone have any idea what, where, when, and how? Not kidding. I want it.
Stig Lindberg textiles

I sometimes (ok most times) am an idiot when it comes to cool design things that happened in the past. For example, I just came across this amazing textile designer named Stig Lindberg who designed these super fabulous fabrics back in the ’50’s. I did a quick search of the net and this guy’s stuff is expensive! Check out a selection of goodies from Huset-shop.com. They have some really cool pieces for sale and the prices seem very very reasonable.
